MSS Corporate Wellness Program is unique in that it focuses on the health risks of each employee by determining what their fasting blood insulin level is. Most chronic diseases are caused by insulin resistance, which is measured by that test. Each employee becomes self motivated to learn about how to keep or how to regain their personal health. Most other wellness programs give points and rewards for entering a certain part of a wellness program such as weight loss. Since these programs are voluntary many of your employees who need the information most, don’t participate for various reasons.
The MSS (metabolic syndrome study) program is most cost effective with the main expense being a battery of 4 blood spot tests; 1.fasting blood insulin, 2. triglycerides, 3. c-reactive protein, and 4. hemoglobin A1C, which is a test that shows chronically elevated blood sugar. The individual employee can do their own test if necessary. It is a finger poke test that diabetics used to do to check their blood sugars before the automated test was available.
